Now that you have your pup wish list lowerd its time to make sure that the dogs on your lift are your type for sure. Take a look at your local shelter. Sometimes great mutts and pure bred dogs pass through the shelter every year. Interact with the dogs see how certan breeds act. Check out a dog show. Dog shows can show you what certan breeds look like and their abilities. Different genders may act differently even though they are the same breed. You could also contact a pet rescue center or local breed club. If you ask they might be able to give you some very helpfull info. Good luck finding your puppy!

The first thing to having a puppy is getting one! So what kind of dog should you get? Selecting the right breed is not so hard if you know how to. You need to know what you want in a dog and what you need. Like do you want a pure bred dog or a mutt? Millions of dogs come into the shelter everyday and you might never know that the little mutt in the shelter could be your best friend. Make a list of qualities and features you want in a dog. Do you want a laid back dog? A dog who barely sheds? Would you prefer a little lap dog or a large dog. Do you want a dog that will stay with you for years to come or about 7 or nine years. Now what about your life style? Do you live in a house or an apartment? How much time can you devote to excesize and training your pup? Do you have kids or allergies? Do you have other pets? Review your list and try looking for a dog breed that fits your criteria. Like humans dogs have personatlities. Your lab pup might end up liking the couch more than the back yard! (im not saying not to get a lab) So choose well.
